Condolences – Billye White Stanfield

Billye Stanfield, 87, of Round Rock, Texas, passed away December 4, 2014 with her family by her side. She was a long time resident of Victoria, Texas.

The beautiful and spunky Billye was born April 4, 1927 in Duke, Oklahoma. She was not only the Valedictorian of the 1945 class at Carter High School (Carter, Oklahoma), she also sang in a traveling quartet, was a member of The Oklahoma Honor Society, and played basketball. It was never a dull moment when Billye was around! While attending Oklahoma State University (Oklahoma A&M) she enjoyed the many sporting events and worked in the dean’s office while making the dean’s list every semester.

Playing Bridge, Skipbo, fishing and golfing were some of Billye’s favorite past times. She was the President of the Women’s Golf Association at the Roswell Country Club (New Mexico).
Traveling was another favorite thing of hers as she had many wonderful memories of the twenty or so countries she visited.

Billye is survived by her son Bill Sewell and wife, Frances of Keller, Texas; her daughter Kay Ross and husband, Jimmy of Lago Vista, Texas; grandchildren Jessica Ross, Laura Carnes and husband, Griff, and Paul Sewell. Billye was so happy to have Miss Rylee Ann Carnes, her great granddaughter. Her grandchildren and Rylee brought her so much joy!

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Stanfield.

A graveside service was held at Memory Gardens Cemetery on December 8, Mr. John Whittington, officiating. Pallbearers: Griff Carnes, Joe Cohen, Jim Reed, Jimmy Ross, Evan Schmidt, Bill Sewell, Paul Sewell. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.colonialfuneralhomevictoria.com
