Matthew James Overton, 22, of Port O’Connor, passed away Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014. He was born May 15, 1992 in Port Lavaca to Michael E. Overton and Michelle Overton.

He is survived by his wife Claudia Overton; son Lucas Overton, his parents; sister Mikaela Overton; grandparents Michael E. and Judy Overton, and Michael and Lorrie Gonzales; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Matthew is Calhoun High School graduate who played in the CHS band. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and he enjoyed reading and playing video games. He was a quiet, soft-spoken man, devoted husband and father who had a love for his family and his hometown of Port O’Connor.

A memorial service was held December 4 at  Fisherman’s Chapel in Port O’Connor, Pastor Erny McDonough presiding.
