This weather in Port O’Connor has been perfect the past several days and makes you want to get out into the water for some good fishing!

The past few days have been sad, with the loss of two of our loyal members, Janet Johnson and Leah Griffin.

Leah Griffin’s funeral was on Wednesday, February 8, at the church. The church was packed with friends and relatives of Leah and Ken. Bro. Donnie Martin preached the funeral and sang the beautiful song “Beaula Land”. Leah was buried in the Port O’Connor Cemetery. After the funeral, there was hospitality and food in the church fellowship hall.

The church senior adults are preparing for their spring retreat at Camp Zephyr. The camp is located on Lake Corpus Christi. The camp is March 6 to 9. The cost is $100 per person and includes lodging and all meals. This years preaching is by Sam Crosby, Bible study by Dr. Jimmy Arnold, devotions by George Yarbrough and music by Sue and Marcos Gohlke. Everyone will be delighted with this highly professional staff. If you would like to go, please contact Doyle Adams at 983-4866 or Bro. Donnie Martin at 983-2727. Transportation is available, but you must register quickly.

The church has a new computer website: wwwfirstbaptistportoconnor.com. The new Church Picture Directory has been completed and ready for your use. Be sure and get your copy.

The Church ladies invite all ladies to the Tuesday Evening Book & Bible Study from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. each Tuesday in Fellowship Hall.
Don’t forget the Benefit for Paige Satterfield which is Saturday, March 18 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the pavilion on King Fisher Beach – bbq sandwiches, cake sale and raffle.

See you in church Sunday!
