This past weekend we were privileged to meet and greet 400 servicemen/women who have served, or are currently serving in our U.S. Armed Forces. The majority of them have been wounded in service of our country, with many spending endless days in hospitals enduring operations, treatments and therapy.

This is the fifth year that Port O’Connor has played host to these heroes, and we wish to thank Ron Kocian and his Warrior’s Weekend Committee for choosing our community as the place for this amazing and inspiring gathering and the many volunteers and donors who made it possible.

This issue of Dolphin Talk features photos from Warrior’s Weekend, plus comments from a few of those who took part. Much more can be found on the Warrior’s Weekend web site: www.warriorsweekend.org .

This Memorial Day we also remember all those who have served in the military throughout the years. Please take a moment out of your Memorial Day festivities to reflect on the meaning of the day and be thankful for all those who have contributed and are today contributing to the freedom we all enjoy.

No words needed; this says it all.

The Dolphin thanks Bill Tigrett, Peggy Wilkinson, and Patricia Mayhall for their Warrior’s Weekend photo contributions.
