Guatemalan artist Oscar Rios Jr. works on his sculpture at Art Center Seadrift in preparation for the grand opening of the Texas Star Project on March 24.

The exhibit runs through March 31 and will feature works in sculpture, photography, and painting on the Texas Star theme.

Art Center director Dieter Erhard has donated his own “Texas Star” sculpture to the City of Seadrift.

It will stand, 23 feet high, in front of the Art Boat, facing Highway 185, as a tribute to the city Mr. Erhard, a native of Germany, has adopted as his Texas home.
