Kristen-MangKristen Nicole Mang, 37, of Port Lavaca passed away July 8, 2021, when her angels took her to her Heavenly Home to be joined with her MawMaw & PawPaw, and her PeePaw and many other heavenly loved ones. She was born January 18, 1984 in Victoria, TX to Michael R. Mang and Leafy Johnson Mang.

In life, Kristen genuinely loved and cherished her family and friends, including her five children. She also enjoyed going to concerts of her favorite bands, practicing meditation and good nutrition, fishing, kayaking, caring for her two cats and spending time in nature doing wildlife photography. Kristen was also very interested in her favorite subjects: science and human anatomy; she was a certified phlebotomist, a registered dental assistant, and was studying to pursue a career in massage therapy.

Kristen is survived by many loving family members, including her long-time partner, Sebastian Calzada; children, Hailey N. Mang, Mackenzie and Gavin Gutierrez, and Maya Lillian and Micah S. Calzada; parents, Michael R. Mang and Leafy Johnson-Mang; and grandmother, Annette Mang. Kristen also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends to cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Carroll Mang and Lewis and Janet Johnson; her Aunt Debbie LeBoeuf, and Uncle Billy Shotwell, and her cousin, Shane Blu Shotwell.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home in Port Lavaca, TX with Father James Dvorak officiating. Burial took place in Port O’Connor Cemetery on Thursday, July 29, 2021.
