Our Church experienced a very moving service this past week with the Memorial Service for Lewis Johnson who passed away on December 21, 2010. The auditorium was filled with family and friends who paid their respects to Lewis and his family. Lewis Johnson was survived by his wife, Janet Johnson, two sons and two daughters. Janet Johnson teaches children in our Sunday School.

The Church Choir participated in the 16th Annual Rockport Gospel Festival by singing at Rockport First Baptist Church this past Sunday evening. The Gospel Festival was held Friday and Saturday at the Rockport High School Auditorium and concluded on Sunday at First Baptist Church.

The Church Fellowship Committee has been exceptionally busy lately in final plans for this years “SWEETHEART BANQUET”, which will be held in the Port O’Connor Community Center Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. This year’s theme is “Love, The Winning Bid”! A famed auctioneer, John Sisk, will provide the entertainment with his songs, jokes, and his auctioneering. The Committee will have the Community Center beautifully decorated and the affair will have door prizes and recognize all those married 50 years and longer and the couple married the shortest time. The annual “Citizen of the Year” award will be presented. Everyone will join in singing “Let Me Call You Sweetheart”. Dinner will be served to everyone and included a charcoal-broiled rib eye steak with all the trimmings, dessert and tea or coffee. Tickets are $7.00 each and we must limit ticket sales to 200 due to space limitations. Tickets may be purchased from the following:
