Seadrift – Lester A. Gaines, 72, of Seadrift, passed away Friday, Jan. 14, 2011. He was born in Seadrift to the late Haley and Ruth Walker Gaines.

Lester is survived by his wife, Judy Key Gaines of Seadrift; stepsons, James See of Buffalo, N.Y., Darren See of Austwell, and Randy See of Dallas; sisters, Naomi Ross of Birkshire, Lottie Frank and Mittie Bennetsen, both of Victoria; brothers, Homer and Eldon Gaines, also of Seadrift; and four step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral service was held Monday, January 17, 2011, at new Beginnings Church in Point Comfort with Pastor Kenyon Hamilton officiating. Burial followed at Seadrift Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Walter Spiller, Tommy McElveen, Steve Lester, Dave Williams, Roger Mullins, and Darren See.

The family requests that memorials in Lester’s name be directed to Hospice of South Texas or to the family to defray final expenses.
