N.A.M.I. Family Education Program

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (N.A.M.I.) will begin their nationally-recognized Family-to-Family Education Program this March in Victoria. Family to Family is designed to help family members, or friends deal with the issues of living with a loved one who has been diagnosed with a major mental illness, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, or borderline personality disorder.

The free 12-week course will be held each Tuesday from 6:30 to 9:00 pm in Victoria. It’s taught by trained instructors who are local family members and care givers themselves. The course was made possible with assistance from Gulf Bend Center, Junior League of Victoria, and numerous businesses and churches within the community. N.A.M.I. Victoria Support Group meets at the fountains in Laurent Towers in Victoria from 6:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m.on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday each month. Contact Lisa (361) 935-0080.
N.A.M.I. Victoria Monthly Meeting for people and families affected with mental illness meets the 3rd Monday of every month at Parkway Church in Victoria, Texas from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Refreshments are served.
