Ruth R. Young, 85, of Port O’Connor passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2011. She was born March 8, 1926 in Weslaco, Texas to the late Vastine B. and Florence Goff Ross.
Ruth was the food service manager for DeTar Hospital and a member of First Baptist Church in Port O’Connor.
Survivors include her daughter, Florence Drake and husband, Paul of Victoria; step-daughter, Cindy Cambron and husband, Pat of Indiana; step-son, Michael Gleinser and wife, Tyrina of Richmond, Texas, Steve Gleinser and wife, Dana of Cypress, Texas; sister, Evelyn Lewis and husband, Howard of Port O’Connor; half-brothers, Houston Ross and wife, Lilly of El Paso, David Ross and wife, Diana of San Antonio; grandson, Kenneth Marr, Jr. and wife, Lois; great grandchild, Jamie Marr.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Young is preceded in death by her husband, Roy N. Young; a son, Bruce Maxwell Anderson and a brother, Vastine B. Ross, Jr.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of South Texas or First Baptist Church in Port O’Connor.
