The strong winds are beginning to give way to a more normal pattern of calm mornings and moderate afternoon breezes. Finally! Its been really warm with temps well into the 90’s but we can deal with that. The fishing is beginning to take on a distinct Summer pattern.

The bays have been improving for trout fishermen. San Antonio Bay remains one of the hotter spots but fish are being caught almost everywhere. The South shorelines have been good for waders early.

The lakes have been giving up mainly redfish with the occasional trout or drum mixed in. Tides have been fairly high so you can get in to most of the lakes.

The Jetties have been spotty with strong tides and off-color water persisting but the last few days have seen quite an improvement. Slot Reds, Drum and Sharks have been the best bet. I haven’t seen or heard of any Kings showing up yet but if the water gets clear I’ll start fishing for them. Same with Tarpon, we’ll need to see more clear water for them to show.

We have even had a few days (maybe 2) that we could get to the surf and the action has been good on Trout, hopefully there will be more of this for a while.
