We celebrated our missionary guest speaker this past Sunday evening with a “German-flavored all-church fellowship”. Missionary Matt Leighty and his wife Stacy told us about their work in Germany with the service men and women stationed there. Since we are facing many reductions in our Armed Forces, Military Chaplains are leaving larger gaps in providing for the needs of our servicemen. To reinforce the ministry to those helping to preserve our freedoms, it is necessary for us to have missionaries to assist. That is the task that the Leighty’s have accepted and been appointed to perform.

We have several people who are wishing to follow the Lord’s example in water baptism this coming Sunday evening. To celebrate the event, we are inviting everyone to come and bring sandwiches, chips, etc. We will enjoy each others company at the Chapel beginning at 6:00 p.m. and then go to the front beach for the Baptismal Service. To prepare for this special event, Hermano Jessie Alderete will be ministering bi-lingually concerning water baptism in the 11:00 a.m. service.

Fisherman’s Bible Institute (FBI) is about to begin another year. FBI is a 3-year systematic study of God’s Word, consisting of workbooks and a 2-hour class each Tuesday evening. For more information, or to sign up, please contact Joane at 983-4240 or 2619.

The next Sea Academy Class will begin on September 30. To reserve a place in the class, call Captain Robert at 361-816-3010 or the Sea Academy at 361-758-6184.

Friday Night Youth continues going strong each Friday except the first Friday of each month. There is always food, fellowship, and wholesome fun for kids of all ages. The chapel has provided this opportunity for many years for this community’s youth and welcomes all kids to participate.

Fisherman’s Chapel is an interdenominational congregation, serving this community for over 17 years. We continue presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ as the answer for all life’s problems. We truly believe Jesus is the answer! You will always find a warm welcome at the Chapel. “Come, grow with us!”
