The group of ladies attending the September 6th Bunco Party marveled later at the total amount of fun enjoyed by all. Hostesses for the evening were Biddie Hileman and Sally Jones, and we were all wondering what special desserts those two would bring as they are noted for unusual delights. But they did not disappoint us this time. Prominent spot in the center of the table was a very unusual pizza as prepared by Biddie. Strawberries, kiwi, blueberries and loads of whipped cream covered a very unusual crust of sugar cookie dough. For the savory minded (as opposed to sweets), was a delicious display of guacamole with excellent chips, prepared by Sally with her usual flair. And, to satisfy a small yen for something sweet with the accompanying red and blue tropical drinks were special cookies as baked by Biddie.

After everyone had temporarily satisfied their hunger, a chorus of “happy birthday to you” was sung (some off key, of course) to Pat Ekstrom which she graciously acknowledged by winning later in the evening. She also took home a very unusual birthday cake as decorated with a small dog, acknowledging her new guest.

Winner of the most games was Mary Ann Claiborne; the most buncos, Kathy Yearwood; the least games, Sally Jones; the booby prize, Pat Ekstrom; and the floating bunco, Sue Kubecka (although she did keep her seat all evening).

All present later agreed at the conclusion of play, that this was the most fun-filled party night for all; many jokes and giggles, laughs and smiles were apparent throughout the evening. And everyone remarked how much they were looking forward to returning on Tuesday, October 4th for more fun. So, POC Ladies, if you would like to become a part of a special evening and meet an unusual and very eclectic group of women, why not plan to attend the Bunco Party in October? We meet in the back meeting room of the Community Center beginning at 7:00 p.m.; our hostesses in October will be Joyce Jordan, Mary Ann Claiborne and Shirley Gordon. Call Shirley Gordon at the Library for further information.
