Pastor Tim Smith of First Assembly of God in Seadrift recently completed a missions trip to Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. Smith was accompanied by Pastor CE Smith and Jody Turowski, both of Family Worship Center in Victoria. The trio traveled to the Canary Islands to visit and participate in services with Assembly of God Missionaries Mark and Kelly Baumgartner.

Both pastors spoke five times at three different churches on the island of Tenerife. The three churches are El Farro Assembly of God, Calvary International Assembly of God, and the National Assembly of God of the Canary Islands. The ministers spoke in a Leaders Seminar, a Church Workers Conference, a Men’s Prayer Breakfast and held revival services at two of the churches.

Pastor Tim Smith said, “The services were tremendous with twenty coming to Christ for salvation during the services. Many were touched by the presence of God and the stirring messages of hope and encouragement.”

The trio also attended a 7th Anniversary Celebration at the Calvary International Assembly of God. Pastor Tim Smith said, “Missionaries Mark and Kelly Baumgartner are doing a tremendous work in the Canary Islands, having established the International Bible Institute of the Canary Islands, two churches and are in the planning stage for a third church. It is very fulfilling to see what our missions support is doing for people in different parts of the world.”

First Assembly of God in Seadrift is very involved in mission support. The local church supports 21 missionaries and organizations that are involved in missions. Family Worship Center in Victoria is also very committed to missions, supporting approximately 40 missionaries and organizations.

The trio returned home on October 12, having been overseas for 9 days. Pastor CE Smith is planning a return trip to the Canary Islands to hold revival services in the three churches next year. Pastor Tim Smith is planning more trips. “It’s all about the people,” Tim Smith said, “The people of Spain were very friendly and hospitable during our travels. It was a great experience to make so many new friends and spending quality time in the presence of God with them.”

Both pastors presented photo presentations in their churches after their return home.
