The Kiwanis BUG (Bring Up Grades) program is off to a great start this year at the Port O’Connor Elementary School. Miss L (the Kiwanis Lady Bug mascot) was on hand to present the BUG certificates to students at the six weeks awards assembly. Students who are not on the A or AB honor rolls earn a place on the BUG honor roll by maintaining all grades and raising at least one grade to the next letter grade. It is the goal of the BUG program to promote academic achievement by recognizing students who are making a significant gain in their grades. The following students received the BUG certificate for their second six weeks report cards:

First Grade: Adalia Gossett, Kalynn Harding, Harley Peeler, Ethan Redding; Second Grade: Jordan Blevins, Harley Albrecht, Jessie Lashley, Keven Salinas, Madison Stringo, Lacey Woest; Third Grade: Collin Branch, Ronnie Carriles, Esmeralda Garcia, Logan Hobbs, Allyson Luna, Faith Peeler, Chloe Ragusin; Fourth Grade: Javier Ayala, Shayleigh Sprague, Sam Thumann; Fifth Grade: Marshall Arlitt, Adrianna Carriles, Zoila Garcia, Gavin Gosnell, Madison Posey
