About twelve of our Senior Adults and guests departed this past Monday, March 5, for the Baptist Encampment at Camp Zephyr for four days. Camp registration started at 2:00 p.m., followed by supper and worship services at 7:00 p.m. Worship services were held by Rev. David Parks, Pastor of Cowboy Church. Devotions were given by Rev. George Yarbrough. Daily Bible Study was conducted by Dr. Jimmy Arnold. Special music was by Brother Marcos and Sue Gohlke.

Beautiful Camp Zephyr is situated on the banks of Lake Corpus Christi and all of the motel rooms, with two double beds each, are lakeside. There is always plenty of time for Gospel music, quartets, fellowship and games of cards and dominoes.

Last Sunday morning, March 4, Brother Donnie Martin delivered the morning message and afterwards, the Church observed the Ordinance of Baptism. Maddie Hawes was baptized. Maddie is the daughter of Jody and Renee Hawes and the garnddaughter of Tommy and Brenda Smith and Robbie and Marie Hawes.

The evening service last Sunday was a “Birthday Bash” honoring all those who had birthdays in January, February and March. Brother Donnie Martin gave a devotional and then everyone enjoyed a meal of corn bread, beans, chili, and dessert and real fellowship. Everyone had a great time.

Candice Stryker is making preparations for this years Annual Easter Egg Hunt. The Easter Egg Hunt this year will be Saturday, April 7, at 2:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. There will be special areas for children of all ages and special eggs will be hidden, which will yield prizes.

Don’t forget the Annual Easter Sunrise Service on the front beach. This service will begin at 7:00 a.m. Easter, April 8, 2012. Brother Erny McDonough will deliver the Easter message. Our choir will be singing special music. Bring a jacket and a chair and you will enjoy this service.

See you in church Sunday!
