Port Lavaca – Arlene Marie Newman Marshall passed into the arms of her Savior on May 21, 2012. She was born in Houston to John W. and Florence Newman on April 9, 1941 and followed her heart to Port Lavaca in 1983 where she married Norman Marshall, longtime owner of Marshall Pontiac, Buick and GMC.

Arlene’s life was always shaped by her volunteer activities. She served in leadership capacities in multiple city and county organizations and most recently as Secretary/Treasurer of the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority Board of Directors.

Arlene leaves to mourn her passing, her husband of 28 years, Norman L. Marshall, his children and numerous other family members and friends.

There will be a private graveside service at a later date.
