Calhoun County Judge Mike Pheifer has received notice from Susan Combs, Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, that Calhoun County has earned a 2012 Gold Leadership Circle award from the State.

The County scored 16 out of a possible 20 points on the ratings criteria for this award, which is judged on financial transparency.

The County maintains a web site, www.calhouncotx.org/trans which lists annual financial reports since 2007, current tax rates, proposed tax increase notices, utility expense, detailed check registers, MMC expenses, investment reports, approved payroll, Treasurer’s Quarterly and Monthly Reports, and policies, all available as public information.
