What does one say as he has just learned about his dad passing (8-15-12)? “Hallelujah” seems appropriate to me! He is free from his pain and resting from his labors. He has been reunited with Mom and our brother Sammy and all the others who have gone before him. But, especially gladdening is the fact that Dad has seen Jesus, the One who made Heaven possible for him! We will be feeling the strength and the love of Port O’Connor as we travel and conduct Dad’s Memorial Service. Thank you for your prayers for Dad and now please direct those prayers toward our family.
Sunday (8-19) will be a special day with the Reverend George and Linda Kutach. Brother George and Sister Linda have ministered here before and were warmly received. They will be teaching the Bible study and ministering in both the morning and evening services.
Fisherman’s Bible Institute (FBI) will be starting its classes very soon. Those who are interested in an in-depth study of God’s Word in a unique way should contact the Reverend Joane (983-2619). There are workbooks to complete each week and a two-hour time of study together on Tuesday evenings. This complete course is three years, but students can begin any year without missing anything. Materials must be ordered, so please let Pastor Joane know that you are interested as soon as possible.
We are planning new activities for Wednesday evenings for the youth – be watching for details. This will not take the place of Friday Night Youth, but will be fun and exciting for the youth of this area. Plan to be a part!
Fisherman’s Chapel is a warm and loving interdenominational congregation. You will always be welcomed at any and all of the activities. We believe in an abundant life here and eternal life with Jesus. You are urged to, “Come, grow with us!”
