As a pastor, I really like the fact that school is back in session – there are more people attending the Chapel! Vacations are over and everyone is settling back into their routines – which are including getting together with God’s people to praise the Lord on His Day! Thank the Lord for new faces, but most of those attending are “the regular folks” who are back regular! We are still missing some, so get back in and let us move forward together!

Fisherman’s Bible Institute (FBI) has begun its new semester. On Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m., students are gathering at the Chapel to bring their completed workbooks and enjoy two hours of instruction. There is always a refreshment break and time for interaction with the instructor, the Reverend Joane, and fellow students. Everyone is welcomed to come, so just come on by; we will order you some workbooks and you can study God’s Word with us! FBI is a three year course of study, but can begin any semester without missing any of the teaching. You will be blessed by studying God’s Word – come join FBI!

I have been in a lot of meetings lately with my work as a Presbyter. There is always a lot of “oversight” work when one accepts additional responsibilities. I am not complaining, because we always appreciate the opportunities that the Lord brings our way to serve Him in many areas of ministry. We sincerely appreciate your prayers for us as we lead. We could not accomplish what we do without the Lord’s help.

The Reverend Joane McDonough will be traveling to Houston on September 30 to minister at the Alpha and Omega Assembly. She has built a friendship with that congregation for many years. We know that she will be blessed as she is blessing.

We appreciate the hard work and dedicated service of Julian, Allissa, Erica, and Patrick, who are working with Friday Night Youth. Each Friday, except the first Friday of the month, the Chapel opens its door at 7:00 p.m. for three hours of fun, food, and fellowship. All area youth are invited to attend.

In our Sunday morning Bible Study, we are studying Galatians. We just finished the second chapter and will be moving forward, verse by verse. Everyone is invited to attend and an open discussion is always the venue. We meet each Sunday at 10:00 a.m.

Fisherman’s Chapel is an interdenominational congregation whose goal is to help people make a successful trip from earth to Glory! We are already planning for the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons and the food baskets that we help this community provide for needy families. The Chapel always has a warm welcome for all who attend and urge you to, “Come, grow with us!”
