The September 20, 2012 meeting of the Service Club concerned mainly the upcoming Garage Sale scheduled for Saturday, November 3, 2012. The Sale will begin again at 8:00 a.m. and last until the last item on the tables have left. The hardworking Chairman of the Sale is Lydia Strakos, and she is stressing to the community at large that although we have been accepting various items for the Sale during the past several months, we are continuing to need them. As the kids are now back at school and many mothers have discovered, somewhat unhappily, that their children have grown amazingly over the Summer, perhaps those outgrown clothes can be donated to our Garage Sale. We are also looking for kitchen items of dishes, glasses, pots and pans, and wonderful baking dishes and those superb decorative bits of this and that which no longer suit your mood or decor. Tools as well as fishing gear are very welcome as are various pieces of furniture. Please contact Lydia at 983-2003 or 983-2341; her assistant Debby Busby 512- 914-9521 or our President, Janet Johnson 983-4733 to arrange for storage of these castoff or no longer necessary items.

Our member, Debby Busby told us of the joy that the Coast Guardsmen have conveyed for the monthly outgoing of cookies and brownies as baked by the various members of the Club. She also asked for an additional number of members to continue baking at least once a month. Knowing of the assistance throughout our Community that the members of the Coast Guard give, this is very small thank you for their help.

The Club is already planning for the Christmas Season. Pat Ekstrom, Chairman for the annual Christmas Luncheon for our senior citizens, announced that the entrees for the Luncheon will once again be roasted turkey accompanied by beef brisket, with members providing the side dishes and desserts. Mark Friday, December 7, 2012, on your calendar for attending the annual Senior Citizen Christmas Luncheon. You won’t want to miss this annual Christmas event!
