The Church Revival is now history and it was great! Shannon Talley preached messages that everyone needed. We enjoyed the instrumentals of Sandra Talley, Barbara Crouch and Shirley Martin. Beautiful piano and organ music and good gospel signing was had in every service. Everyone enjoyed the “Welcome Talley’s” celebration on Sunday evening and the big “Birthday Bash” and fried chicken dinner on Tuesday evening. God was with every Revival activity. The Talley’s departed for home in McAllen, Texas on Thursday morning.

This past Sunday morning was a great day with a very good attendance. Brother Raymond Grant led the congregation in singing a hymn medley of “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” and “O Worship the King”, followed by “There is Power in the Blood”. Brother Grant gave a very interesting and informative children’s sermon. The Church choir sang a very beautiful Gospel song. “The Touch of His Hand on Mine”. Brother Donnie Martin preached an inspirational message.

Several of our Church members attended the Senior Adult Retreat at Camp Zephyr this past week. They departed Port O’Connor on Monday and returned on Thursday. It was like “old times” with Marcos and Sue Gohlke in charge of the music and singing several familiar favorites. George and Barbara Yarbrough were there and Brother George, as usual, gave very interesting and informative devotions. Brother Mike Gresham, Pastor of Port Lavaca First Baptist, was the Retreat Pastor and preached outstanding messages. The Bible Study was taught by Dr. Jimmy Arnold, Pastor of Woodsboro First Baptist. The activities and the food was, us usual, outstanding.

The next Senior Adult Retreat is at Palacios Baptist Encampment October 15-18. This Retreat is led by Sam Craig, music evangelist, recording artist, missionary and Camp Director. Several of our Church members will be attending this fine Retreat.

Church emphasis is now being placed on “Operation Christmas Child”. This “Shoe Box” Campaign distributes shoe boxes around the world to needy children at Christmas. The boxes are filled with small personal items, school supplies, toys, candy, clothing and a lot of LOVE! The boxes are being collected at the Church and will be picked up on November 13. Fill a shoe box this year and make some child very happy this Christmas.

See you in church Sunday!
