This past Sunday was Veteran’s Day and we enjoyed a very good Sunday School and Morning Worship Service attendance. Special attention was given to all our Veterans from each Branch of Service. The Veterans from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard and the Merchant Marines were recognized individually. After the Veterans were saluted and applauded, the congregation gave the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States Flag and everyone sang “God Bless America”. It was joyous and very touching time for everyone.
Bro. Donnie Martin preached an excellent message on Salvation and the need for all to prepare for tomorrow. I believe everyone left the Service with a gratitude for our Country and our Military Men and Women.
The Choir has been rehearsing for their special music presentation at this weeks Port O’Connor “THANKSGIVING SERVICE” at Fisherman’s Chapel. Don’t forget to bring a canned good or two for the Thanksgiving and Christmas Baskets for Port O’Connor needy. Please be prepared to make a good donation, when the offering plate is passed. All donations will be used to purchase food for the Baskets.
The Churches “CHRISTMAS SHOE BOX” Campaign resulted in 32 Shoe Boxes filled with “goodies” to be delivered to boys and girls around the world. The Boxes were taken to the shipper on Monday, November 12. Thanks to all those who filled the Shoe Boxes with toys, candy, schools supplies, socks, etc., but most of all LOVE and a story of Jesus in their language.
Happy THANKSGIVING and I will see you in Church Sunday!
