The eighteenth annual Port O’Connor “Sweetheart Banquet”, sponsored by First Baptist Church, will be held on Thursday evening, February 14, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. at the Port O’Connor Community Center.

This outstanding, joyous occasion has become an annual entertainment event that everyone looks forward to each year. From a “sell out” crowd of 50 people jammed into the Church Fellowship Hall eighteen years ago, to “sell out” crowds of over 200 people the past eleven years in the Community Center, the “Sweetheart Banquet” has been a tremendous SUCCESS for FELLOWSHIP in Port O’Connor.

This year’s Banquet, “Gettin’ the Scoop on Love”, will begin with a delicious charcoal-broiled steak dinner with all the trimmings, salad and dessert, and all served especially for you, at your table, by authentic waiters and waitresses. Following the dinner, there will be recognition of all couples, especially those who have celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary and the couple married the longest and the couple married the least amount of time. Door prizes will be given away and everyone will be singing “Let Me Call You Sweetheart”.

The highlight of the evening will be the announcing the “Port O’Connor Citizen of the Year” Award.
After the award presentation, the guests will be entertained by Marilyn Sebesta as she presents her award-winning “Gettin’ the Scoop on Love”. Marilyn is an award-winning author and an accomplished singer. She recently wrote the script for a children’s musical “Scout, the Dog who Saved the Nutcracker”, based on true experiences. She also wrote the script for a children’s musical following the book. The musical will be held in the Plaza Theater in Wharton, Texas. I believe everyone will enjoy Marilyn Sebesta’s program.

The Community Center will be decorated with Valentines Day flavor with hearts and a bow and arrow with Cupids around. The Center will be decorated by a special committee from the Church.

Wow! And all this for $7.50 per person. Be sure you get your tickets early, as only 200 tickets can be sold due to seating limitations. Tickets may be purchased from the following (area code 361):
