It’s only three months until Port O’Connor will be hosting the annual Warriors Weekend, honoring our wounded American heros. If you’ve been involved in any of the previous Warriors Weekends, you know what a meaningful time this is for these wounded soldiers, and how rewarding it is to be a part of it.
On Monday, February 11, at 6:00 p.m., you are invited to attend a Volunteers Meeting at Port O’Connor First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Members of the Warriors Weekend Board will give a report on how the event is shaping up and tell what help is needed locally.
Volunteers are needed for a wide variety of tasks, everything from baking cakes to seeing that the soldiers have a good time fishing, both by boat or from the bank. No matter what your expertise or interests, your involvement at any level will ensure the event runs smoothly and offers a wonderful respite to these heroes who must spend the majority of their time enduring surgeries and therapy for the wounds they received serving our Country.
Everyone is welcome to attend this meeting. We look forward to seeing you!
