The Port O’Connor community came together once again on Saturday, April 20th, for the 2nd annual Boggy Nature Park & Beach clean-up. County commissioner, Kenny Finster, county employees, L’Roy and John and over 50 volunteers including youth from the local Port O’Connor 4-H Club worked from 9am -12 noon under the direction of Speedy Stop Mgr., John Hribek and wife Leeanne, and Virgil and Ursula Price, organizers of the event. The volunteers collected a dump truck full of debris and trash. Volunteers were treated to a hotdog and chilli lunch.
Thank you volunteers for doing your part in Keeping Boggy Clean and Beautiful!
The public is reminded that dumping of any trash or refuge including palm fronds and yard debris in Boggy Nature Park is prohibited by law.
Remember that the POC Municipal Utility District (MUD) is providing quarterly heavy trash depository for non-hazardous waste including disposal of yard debris and trash. For additional information, call the MUD office at 361 983 2652.
Don’t dump on Boggy! Let’s keep Boggy clean for everyone’s enjoyment! Together we can do it!
