A very busy week at First Baptist Church. The 2013 Vacation Bible, “Colossal Coaster World”, was a tremendous success! The School was held from 9:00 a.m. until noon each day from June 10 to June 13. Children from two years old to the sixth grade attended each day. Average children attendance was 56, with adult workers attendance of 37. the children donated, through their pennies, a total of $280.00 to be forwarded to the South Texas Children’s Home in Beeville, Texas.
Each day the children gathered at 9:00 a.m. to Pledge Allegiance to the American Flag, Christian Flag, and the Bible. The children went to their age group classes and for snack, recreation, music, missions, and crafts.
On Thursday evening, June 13, the Graduation Ceremonies were held in the church auditorium. The auditorium was filled with children, parents, grandparents, relatives and friends and they were treated to a music program presented by the 56 children. Diplomas were presented to teach child and each was applauded.
After the graduation program, everyone toured the classrooms and viewed the work and crafts made by the children. Cakes, cookies and punch were served to everyone. All agreed that the 2013 VBS was the BEST and the Director was CANDICE STRYKER! Congratulations, and THANKS to everyone for your HARD WORK!
