For the month of August, 2013

Seadrift police had a very busy month, there were 217 calls of service in, calls range from information, complaints, to just needing to talk to an officer.

Our daytime duties have consisted of writing reports, patrolling neighborhoods and school zones, school walkthroughs, and working active cases.

Our nighttime duties have consisted on night patrols, checking doors, home watch program, monitoring night time activities, and low profile observations.

Officers have recently received more training in drug interdiction and environmental issues.

Officers have found 3 doors open; owners were notified in each case and buildings secured.
There have been 8 reports written, 6 arrests and 41 Traffic stops,10 citations written, and 31 warnings issued for the month of August. Of the 4 thefts reported to police, 2 this month and 2 last month, “All” have been cleared.

There have been 6 drug arrests for meth and heroin in last 2 months and 2 arrests within 3 days.

(1) Possession of controlled substance (Meth) (Arrest)

(1) Manufacture and delivery controlled substance (8.6 grams Meth)(Arrest)

Officers “Seized” cash and a 91 Nissan Maxima from drug bust.

(3) Arrests for outstanding Warrant’s

(2) Speeding citations

(1) Disregarding a stop sign

(1) No Insurance

(1) Expired registration
(2) DWLI
(1) No Drivers license

(1) Violation of city ordinance (ATV)
