In the past five years the airport has received over 1,500 entries. The contest aims to educate our youth about the multiple avenues in aviation through art. In honor of the fifth year, Calhoun Air Center made the selection process more exciting. The art pieces were showcased via an online Facebook contest and the public was asked to vote for the winning art pieces. The contest was a complete success with over 650 votes.

“The students look forward to our contest each year, some even submit multiple entries. They spend weeks planning their art piece,” commented airport manager Dianna Stanger. “It’s exciting to see them with such enthusiasm towards aviation and art.”
