While patrolling during the very early morning hours, Seadrift Police Officer James Walther and Reserve Officer Lewis Warren noticed a suspicious vehicle driving fast down neighborhood streets. When the officers turned to get closer to the vehicle they also noticed that it was trying to loose the officer on the neighborhood streets.

As the Seadrift Police unit would turn to get closer to the suspect vehicle, the vehicle would continue to turn trying to loose the officer, and in what would become a game of cat and mouse, was making the officers even more suspicious of the vehicle, as officers would drive on a block parallel to the suspect vehicle, the suspect vehicle would turn until it disappeared.

Officers almost immediately found the vehicle hiding behind a large bush in a driveway where it was known to officers to not belong. As the family inside the home were not acquaintances, officers immediately turned on their spot lights, approached the vehicle and ordered two suspects out and to the front of their patrol unit. The officers noticed that the suspect vehicle was the same vehicle seen at a known drug house earlier and started to question the suspects. When officers asked for identification, the driver gave a false name and date of birth, Officers soon discovered the true identity of the driver and the passenger was found to not have a driver license but did have an out-of-state ID.

A search of the suspect vehicle found a large quantity of white crystal substance that field tested to be methamphetamine. Other drugs were also found.
Both suspects were arrested and transported to Calhoun County jail by Seadrift officers, The suspects vehicle was impounded and towed.

This is the fourth drug arrest of the year and the 14th drug arrest since last year, and several vehicles have been impounded. If you have drugs in your vehicle, you are going to lose it! And if you have drugs in your home and you have children there, not only will you be arrested, but Texas Child Protective Services will be notified. You have a responsibility, not only to your children, but also to the community, to see that your children are in a safe environment.

If you have information on illegal activities in the community, feel free to talk to me anytime as all information is confidential.
