The Friends of the Port O’Connor Library is dedicated to focusing public attention on library services, facilities and needs, and encouraging donations, gifts, endowments and bequests to the Port O’Connor Branch of the Calhoun County Public Library thereby stimulating increased public usage, especially among children in the community, and enhancement of the Library’s resources, facilities and services, and thus enriching the lives of the community of Port O’Connor, Texas.
Activities include:

fundraising to support building and construction projects and improvement of the Library facility that would enhance and enlarge the Library’s presence and services to the community of Port O’Connor, Texas

sponsorship of special projects and the securing of materials that are beyond the ordinary budget of the Library

endeavoring to build community support, usage, awareness and enthusiasm for the Library

performing other services deemed helpful to the Library such as recruiting volunteers to supplement paid staff and for staffing special events or programs at the Library.
