Excitement abounds in Port O’Connor! The Annual Easter Sunrise Service on the Beach Front was a huge Success with attendance estimated at 400 to 500. The Church Choir sang a beautiful Hymn about our Savior and Honoring Him. Michelle Flosinzier, from Fisherman’s Chapel, sang an outstanding solo and Raymond Grant led the audience in singing two great Easter Hymns. Bro. Erny McDonough, Pastor of Fisherman’s Chapel, delivered an inspirational Easter Message, which was acclaimed by everyone. First Baptist Church Pastor, Bro. Donnie Martin gave the Benediction and everyone was treated to Fresh Baked Cinnamon Rolls furnished by Cathy’s Restaurant and Hot Coffee by Fisherman’s Chapel. Yes, it was a Fantastic Easter Sunrise Service.
The Annual Children’s Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 19, was attended by children of all ages. Candice Stryker and the Church Youth Group hid hundreds of eggs and the children and their parents and grand parents enjoyed hunting each egg.
The Front Beach was filled this past weekend, with guests for the Annual “Crawfish Fest & Cook-Off”. The Music, Food and vendors were outstanding and the crowds proved it!
I can’t overlook the “Spaghetti Dinner” at the Community Center and the outstanding presentation of Port O’Connor’s planned NEW LIBRARY. This will be a great addition to Port O’Connor.
Our next BIG EVENT is “WARRIOR’S WEEKEND”. Everyone in Port O’Connor is prepared to Welcome our Fantastic Guests on Saturday, May 17! This will again be our Number One Event in our Community. Let’s all show up and welcome our HEROS!
Vacation Bible School is just around the corner. It all begins on Monday, June 9 at 9:00 AM. This Years VBS Title is “AGENCY D3” and is packed full of excitement and enjoyment for all Children. The Church Van will be picking up Children around 8:00 AM and taking them home about noon each day. VBS will run from June 9 to June 12 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon each day.
Children’s Camp at Palacios Baptist Encampment is June 16 to June 19. If your Child is interested in going to Camp, please call the Church at 983-2727.
