Readin’ – ‘Ritin’ – Reelin’  Tournament August 1 & 2

The 12th Annual Readin’-’Ritin’-Reelin’ saltwater fishing tournament has been set for Friday, August 1st and 2nd, 2014 in Port O’ Connor, Texas. This weekend brings together fishermen and families alike for a time of great fellowship and fun.

This family, food, and fun-filled event is hosted by Holy Family Knights of Columbus Council #9088 and Nazareth Academy at the Port O’Connor Community Center and benefits Victoria Catholic school, Nazareth Academy.

Team registration for the event has already begun. Fee includes a cap per paying person on the team and one meal ticket for Friday night’s BBQ and trimmings and one meal ticket for the fried-fish Saturday night. Fishing begins Saturday morning at 5:00am with weigh-in that evening between 3:30-5:00pm. There is a limit of 6 persons per boat. All persons in boat must be entered in tournament and are required to sign an entry form on Friday evening. Max of 4 persons aged 16 or over.

Over the past eleven years, this collaboration has raised in excess of $487,000 for Nazareth Academy. Forty-six boats went out last year. Trophies will be awarded to an individual female, individual child, and Knight who catches the largest red fish and largest trout. Additionally, pot entry rules can be found on the school website www.nazarethacademy.org.

Steve Branch, Nazareth Academy Advisory Board President reports, “This event gets bigger and better every year. It has raised close to half a million dollars since its inception. The food, fellowship, and fishing are all phenomenal.” Proceeds have gone towards new computers, smart boards, document cameras, classroom supplies and security doors and cameras. The Nazareth family expresses significant gratitude to the Knights of Columbus as well as the Port O’Connor community for their continued support.

There will be cash prizes, live and silent auctions and a gun and fishing rod raffle. So, come join the fun even if you do not fish!
