What a great day to be serving Jesus! We know that Jesus is coming very soon and that what we are going to do for Him, we must be actively pursuing! We will only be eternally rewarded for the things we do now for the Lord’s Kingdom, so we are doing all we can to help build the things of God! We continue seeing visitors at the Chapel and are having great times of refreshing as we come to His House to praise the Lord and leave here to worship Him with how we live daily for Him and His causes.
Captain Robert had another great class with the Sea Academy. We do not have next year’s calendar worked out yet, but there will be (the Lord willing) classes in 2015. Not only are we training Boat Captains, but have the opportunity of meeting some really great men and women who want to work in the Port O’Connor area. Thanks, Captain Robert for your hard work!
Our Friday Night Youth leaders are continuing to work hard to provide an evening of fun, food, and fellowship for the youth of our community. We now are having kids come from other towns, like Seadrift, and they are very welcome! Now that we are about to enter the Holiday Season, Thanksgiving and Christmas, the Friday Night Youth schedule will vary, so keep watching or call before you come.
We have started a new emphasis at the Chapel and are calling it “Corporate Prayer”. We meet Sunday evenings at 5:00 p.m. for a special time of prayer in unique ways. This is not the normal “prayer meeting” where requests are listed and people go pray, which is great, but we target areas of concern and together pray for these needs. Come and try it.
We enjoyed a great services the first Sunday of this month as we hosted Reverend Jr. and Mrs. Bobbye Garcia. They are a young couple who have felt the call of the Lord to move to Hallettsville and start a church there. They have two children and have sold their home and bought another in Hallettsville, have changed their jobs and are now working out of Hallettsville, and are expending a lot of energy at establishing a new Church for God’s glory! We were glad to help them with a special offering, prayer, and pledge to help any other way we can.
We are already working on our Community Thanksgiving and Christmas Baskets. These baskets will go to needy families, not greedy ones! Our Annual Thanksgiving Service will be on November 23, at 6:00 p.m. Everyone should place that date on their calendar and be ready for a great community-wide service, which will conclude with a time of fellowship around the tables.
Fisherman’s Chapel is an interdenominational congregation that meets together to praise the Lord and learn how to “worship God” during their daily lives. One will always find a warm welcome at the Chapel and you are urged to, “Come, grow with us!”
National Pastor Appreciation Month Celebrated at Fishermen’s Chapel
Thank you seems so inadequate for all that Pastors Erny and Joane McDonough do for the church and our community. Sunday, October 12, they were honored with cards and flowers, hand drawn pictures from the children and a delicious potluck luncheon and lots of hugs and handshakes as the chapel said thanks, gracias, we appreciate you, you’re special to us, we love you and God Bless You to Erny and Joane. They mean so much to lots of people. Happy Pastors’ Appreciation Month to them and all those who serve our churches and chapels, synagogues and cathedrals. -Kelly Gee

Es mi deseo que conozcas a Cristo y que le des la oportunidad de compartir su amor contigo. Que Dio te bendiga. Tu hermano en Cristo. Por oración llame me al siguiente numero.
