With the early onset of cold weather, some may be hoping for a White Christmas, but whatever the weather, Calhoun County residents will be out and about celebrating the holiday season. In this issue, we have included information about many special activities to enhance your holiday celebration.
In Port O’Connor, many residents have already begun by taking part in the annual Thanksgiving Service on November 16th. As a result of theirs and many others’ generosity, Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets will be distributed to those in need. And, as a result of the dedication of many boaters from the Houston area, hundreds of children in our area will receive toys this Christmas. (Toy Run is Dec. 6th. and you are welcome to come to Clark’s Inn about 3:00 p.m. and help unload all the toys.) Adding to that, are many individuals who are purchasing clothing for children in need in Port O’Connor (Christmas Angels).
Port O’Connor Community Service Club will once again give to our seniors a delicious holiday meal (Dec. 5) with entertainment by the children of Port O’Connor School.
And don’t forget the Boat Parade (Dec. 6) – a fun outing for the whole family. In these pages, you will find a map of the parade route and an entry form for those who want to be part of the parade.
Another parade (this one on land), the family will enjoy is the Parade of Lights in Port Lavaca on December 4th.
There are many more activities coming up. Those we know about are listed in this issue. As others are scheduled, we will list them on The Dolphin Talk’s Facebook page. We hope you will enjoy participating in these special events this holiday season.
