Katherine, daughter of Jack and Bonnie Glover of Seadrift, graduates as a member of the National Honor Society. Katherine was also a member of the Calhoun High School Choir. She plans to attend Victoria College, working toward a business degree.
Mikaela, daughter of Mike and Michelle Overton of Port O’Connor, entered Calhoun High School late in the year after gaining many achievements at North Marion High School in West Virginia. At Marion, Mikaela was awarded an Academic Achievement Award and lettered in Theater Arts.
Entering Calhoun High, she worked hard to make sure of receiving scholarships, and was awarded four: the Christopher Ragusin POC Grand Slam; Zeke Carlyle Memorial; Port O’Connor Community Service Club; and Port O’Connor PTO – Naomi Albrecht Scholarship.
Mikaela plans to start working and attend school part-time at Victoria Beauty School to become a licensed Cosmetologist. Mikaela wishes to thank everyone who helped her, and are helping her achieve her goal in life.
Jeremy is the son of Stanley “Bubba” Thumann and Dabney Rich of Port O’Connor. He plans on furthering his education and becoming a tradesman.
Harli Lanae Stefek graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas State University and was conferred with the degree Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies in Education on May 16, 2015. After completion of her certification Harli will teach students in Texas. Her family and friends hosted a congratulatory party where she was showered with jungle themed gifts for use in her elementary classroom.
Harli is the wife of George Stefek of Grainger, Texas; the daughter of Riki Lambright and the late Kelly Lambright; granddaughter to Cheryl and Travis Noack of Granite Shoals, Texas and Sherry Lambright and the late Thomas Edward Lambright of Port O’Connor, TX.
Trevor Finster, son of Kenneth and Dwana Finster (shown in photo) received his Bachelors Degree in Communication from the University of Houston, Victoria.
Trevor plans to attend law school.
John Michael Clifton II was conferred with the degree of Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law on May 17, 2017. During his time at OCU he served as a member of the Law Review and was Class Representative to the Student Bar Association. John received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Legal Research & Writing, the Award of Accomplishment in Legal Research, and was a Merit Scholar. After the bar exam, John plans to practice Oil & Gas Law. He is the son of Mike and Beverly Clifton of Port O’Connor Texas; grandson of Carolyn and BJ Clifton of Brazoria, Texas and Sherry and the late Thomas Edward Lambright of Port O Connor.
