My wonderful husband Prescal O. Davenport made a full journey through his life from a baby boy to a man in the U.S. Navy. He had water in his blood and remained there to his last and final breath. Over his life he held several jobs but the lure of the water always drew him back.
He was a lifelong shrimper and owner of D & D Seafood. Over his lifetime he was the proud owner of several boats (2 Gulf boats), The American Whitney and The Susanne, Bay Boats (Tar Baby and Nancy Sue). So many adventures he made over his life, he has now made his last adventure sailing away into the arms of Our Lord and Savior.
Graveside service was held at Tivoli Cemetery in Tivoli on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 with full military honors under the auspices of Calhoun County Combined Honor Guard.
Pallbearers were Brandon James Davenport, Michael Klamm, Glen Davenport, Kenneth Stuckey, Alois Kurtz, Robert Bryant, and Carlton ‘Butch’ Hopper.
