Tuesday, December 1, 2015 marked the first day to start our decorating skills in our library, and Ginnie Lichac and Joyce Jordan were here to aid a totally unmechanical person in putting up our tree. And with their help the tree became completely assembled with no empty areas.

Then on Wednesday afternoon, December 2, Shirley and I were joined in decorating the tree and the windows and every other area of our room by the assistance of Wes and Lyn Sutherland, Mrs. Grace Stone and her daughter Susan Onishi, and Joyce Jordan. And our Library is now fit and beautiful for the Christmas Season.

Taking its place on the main table is a decanter full of fresh coffee, sugar and creamer, and often cookies to be enjoyed by our visitors. As our facility for playing Christmas Songs is no longer working, our library is silent, but not when certain doors are opened and closed due to the jingle-bell wreath prominently displayed.

For several years now we have been decorating the library with some of our personal offerings and some we have been lent or purchased. And each year it looks better and better with the greenery above the shelves with many Santa figures and the small stockings along the side. But the tree is a wonderful sight with a rope of gold tinsel accompanied by multicolored balls. One of our decorators commented that the decorating of our Library has become a tradition; one she looks forward to each year.

And we have Marie Hawes, President of the POC Service Club to thank for lending us the greenery to be used this year. When Wes wound much of it outside by the front door, we all knew that Christmas was in sight.

And a very Merry Christmas to all our visitors with the wish of the best 2016 New Year to you all.
