God has been so good to the Church throughout the Christmas Season. The Annual “Lottie Moon” Christmas Offering for our International Missionaries around the world is steadily increasing toward our $1,200 goal. I am sure we will exceed this goal!
The Church had a Great Christmas Party and “Birthday Bash”, celebrating birthdays with those who had birthdays in October, November and December.
All attention now is being placed on this years Annual “SWEETHEART BANQUET”. This will be the 21st. year our Church has sponsored this Banquet. Committees are busy now with planning the decorations with the theme of “Love Letters In The Sand”. The Banquet will be held in the Port O’Connor Community Center on Thursday, February, 11, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. DANNY BOURG and his group will be playing “Western and Blues Music”. The Church men’s group is organizing to fire-up the charcoal pits to cook the steaks, carefully selected from our Speedy Stop. The Youth Group is preparing to serve everyone at their table a delicious steak dinner, with all the trimmings, a green salad, desserts and coffee and tea. Tickets are $8.00 each from the following:

Everyone will join in singing “Let Me Call You Sweetheart” and we will honor every couple married over 50 years and the couple married the least years and present them a Valentine’s gift! Door prizes will be awarded.
The top presentation will be “PORT O’CONNOR’S CITIZEN OF THE YEAR”. There was many candidates for this award, which is presented to someone who has donated much of their time helping Port O’Connor people in their lives.
Please purchase your tickets early, as we can only sell 200, due to the seating limitations.
Port O’Connor was decorated very beautifully around town. Many home owners decorated more this year! I know Jesus appreciated how much we gave tribute to Him on his Birthday!
The Church has been cleaning the four lots behind the church and we will soon have a perfect place for outdoor activities!
Our Choir will be singing in the “Rockport Gospel Festival” on Saturday, January 9, at the High School Auditorium. By the time you read this, the Festival will be over and I will give a report in the February issue, along with a report on the Sweetheart Banquet.
See You in Church Sunday!
