Port O’Connor had an outstanding Easter Sunrise Service under the new covered pavilion on King Fisher Beach. Wow! Words cannot describe the scene. All the available chairs were filled, all picnic tables were occupied and there were 31 golf carts filled with people outside. Cars were parked on the road and full of passengers. The estimate of attendees was 700.
The weather was not perfect, but just a cool breeze at sunrise. We had no sun, but other than that, it was great weather. The First Baptist Church sang a beautiful worship song and Raymond Grant, the Church Music and Youth Director, led the congregation in an Easter hymn. Bro. Erny McDonough preached a fantastic Easter sermon, which was enjoyed by everyone and Bro. Donnie Martin led everyone in a closing prayer.
After the service, everyone enjoyed a time of fellowship, hot coffee and sweet rolls furnished by Cathy’s and Fisherman’s Chapel.
The Church sponsored annual Easter Egg Hunt was a big success. At least 80 children hunted eggs and enjoyed the refreshments.
