Port O’Connor residents Robbie Hawes and Robin Carville did our town proud on April 16 when they participated in the MS150 bicycle ride, originally scheduled to be from Houston to Austin. These two “senior cyclers” completed day one, 86 miles, in a pedaling time of 5 hours and 40 minutes.
Each has an important person in their lives who is affected by multiple sclerosis, and together they raised over $5,000 in the fight against this disease. Although day two was cancelled due to inclement weather, both of “Team Robs” were ready, willing and able to go again the second day, and are already looking forward to the ride again next year.
