Tournament Winners

The Memorial Day Kids Fishing Tourney, sponsored by the Port O’Connor Chamber of Commerce, was a fun-filled day for about 75 kids, ages 3-12. A HUGE thank you to Donnie Klesel with POC Rod & Gun, along with Jim and Mary Francis Bauer, with 10th Street Lodge, for chairing this event for these children. Also a thank you to Mary Jo Walker, with Beacon 44 Seafood Market for suppling the bait. Trophies were awarded for the Largest Fish, Smallest Fish, and the most fish for each age bracket, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. All participants received ribbons and certificates, so no one went away empty handed! A 24” redfish was brought in by a child in the 3-5 age bracket….. might want to put him on the pro team?!!!! The kids all had a ton of fun and some good experience for future angler tournaments!!
