Sara Apostalo

Members of the Tuesday Bible Study Group gathered at Mary Nell McGee’s home to bid a tearful farewell to long-time friend, Sara Apostalo. After 50 years in Port O’Connor, Sara has moved to Slidell, Louisiana to be near her family.

In addition to the Bible Study, Sara was a member of the Service Club, Baptist Church, and Bunco group. Her employment included house cleaning and working as a salesperson at Sister’s. She and her husband, Paul Sr., who passed away in 2014, owned rental cottages in Port O’Connor.

“There used to be an Apostalo on every corner,” remarked one long-time Port O’Connor friend. “Now, the last of the Apostalo’s are gone.”
