Hi! My name is Audrey Rhoads, and I’m going to tell you about my experience in the future chef competition. My recipe chosen to be in the future chef competition is called Tex-Mex Dip, and it is my Nana’s recipe. When we first got to the competition, the head chef gave us a speech about what to do and what not to do in the kitchen. He also told us that we are to rely on our helpers to cut anything for us, to cook over the open flame on the stove, and ask them for help if we need it. My helper’s name was Laura and she is the manager at the high school cafeteria. She and I made my recipe and it turned out so pretty. She also helped me deliver my plates to the judges.

There was a lot going on in the kitchen. Everyone was busy cooking and preparing their recipe for the competition. There were four judges. We had to deliver our plates to the judges and give a speech about it. I told them that this was my Nana’s recipe and that she makes it when we get together with our family. I also told them how to make my dip, and about how we used a lot of healthy ingredients in my recipe.

Each of the eight chefs had to make a speech about their recipe to the judges. We also had to decorate the table. My mom decorated it while I was busy in the kitchen. I had so much fun in this competition and really enjoyed listening and watching everyone make their dishes.
