As everyone knows January and February are the slowest months in Port O’Connor, although there’s much more going on than when the first “Dolphin Talk” made its appearance in February, 1996. There had been the Port Lavaca Wave and Victoria Advocate, our choices of getting local news and information. Then there were three local ladies, Joyce Rhyne, Margaret Jennings and Charlotte Graham, who worked together to establish Port O’Connor’s first ever paper. If not for these ladies, we probably would not have this fantastic piece of history. Can’t believe I’ve written an article for every issue. It’s been an honor to have been part of this history. ‘Thank YOU” Joyce for keeping this going, even though it used to be twice a month. But with less help you had to cut to once a month. Each paper takes hours and hours of work.
