Seadrift – Dorothy Mae Kovarek May, 82, passed away suddenly Tuesday, April 16, 2019. She was born March 5, 1937 to Albin and Agnes Kovarek in Needville, Texas. Visitation was held on Thursday, April 18, 2019 from 10:00 – 11:00 am with a graveside service at 11:00 am at Seadrift Cemetery, Seadrift, Texas. Pallbearers were Miles Mills, Johnny Karm Jr., Kenneth May, Robert Bryant, Keith Townsend, and Hardy Mills. She lived her life loving her family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She took great pleasure in growing her flowers, once owning her own flower shop in Seadrift. This year, knowing she couldn’t’ get outside to plant her flowers, she started growing them in the house so she could enjoy the pleasure they provided her. She loved to go gambling with her family and play the slot machines and also play her lottery tickets. She was an avid card player, loved to play Hand & Foot Canasta with her friends. She is survived by her sons Raymond Jr, (Denise); Marcus (Jackie), daughters April Townsend (Keith) and Pamela Mills (Hardy); grandchildren: Christy Bryant (Robert); Ashley Waghorne (Josh); Hunter Leita (Erin); Fisher Leita (Fiance Kaylea Orsak); Miles Mills (Fiance Kaitlin Pokluda) and Stormy Mills; great grandchildren: Aidan Bryant; Lily, Dusty, and Felicity Waghorne; Luke & Piper Leita; step grandchildren: Courtney Rohrer (Mikey), JW and Lisa Mills; Jessica, Samantha, and Kristi Townsend; step great grandsons Cory & Matthew Bryant and step granddaughter Magnolia Rohrer; sisters Lorene Stokes (Jimmy) and Linda Lala (Dennis), and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 56 years Raymond May Sr.; grandson Dustin May; brothers, Wilbert, Lester Sr., and Melvin Kovarek.
