Sd-Williams Stephen Dennis Williams (Denny, Deputy Dawg) went home to be with Jesus April 29, 2019. He was born March 31, 1938.

Stephen always had a kind word or a silly joke to brighten someone’s day. Those who knew him got a laugh out of his numerous “natural” cures for ailments. He loved his trips to Colorado, and around the state of Texas investigating his ancestry. He enjoyed anything outdoors and working in his garden. He loved his camping trips to the beach with his family. Being on the water around the Texas coast brought him peace and happiness throughout his whole life. Denny was a lifelong shrimper and Seadrift resident, exceptional father, amazing grandfather and faithful husband. He will be missed by all of those who loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Donna Amason Williams; three daughters, Rhonda Heffernan, Sabrina Risken and Julie Stoddard (Larry) and three amazing grandchildren, Stiles Stoddard, Ireland Williams and Kellyn Heffernan; sister, Geraldine Wilson; brothers, Wallace, David and Donald Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David Archie Williams and Mary Alma Wooldridge; two brothers, J.D. Williams and L.C. Williams (Sugarfoot); and baby sister, Marjorie Blanche.

Flowers are welcome, but in lieu of flowers, you may make donations in Denny’s name to Friends of Aransas and Matagorda Island National Wildlife Refuge at www.friendsofaransas.org and prayers are also welcome.

The family also expresses their gratitude for all of the food, flowers and prayers during their time of need.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 3, at Grace Funeral Chapel in Port Lavaca. Burial followed at Seadrift Cemetery.
