The “Hooked On Books” Book Club held their May meeting on 5/14/19 at the POC Library, with 19 lovely ladies in attendance. Hostesses Connie Hall and Judy Overton delighted members with a beautiful array of Spring floral decorations, and a smorgasbord of delicious food and beverages. Following the refreshments, the group held an interesting and lengthy discussion of the Book of the Month- “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks” by Rebecca Skloot, and viewed a “You Tube” video about Ms. Lacks. All agreed that it was an excellent book- well researched and very well written!!

After taking a break for the summer, the Book Club’s next meeting will be a Pool-side Party at 2:00 PM on September 10, 2019, and September’s Book is “Code Girls: The Untold Story of the American Women Code Breakers of WWII” by Lisa Mundy.
