If you have lots of time on your hands, then please come by and take some of our load! I know that school has begun, but it seems the activity level has only increased and will be until after Christmas! We have been hosting several retreats and there are more scheduled. David Williams has been ministering in our place at different times, and we sincerely appreciate his messages and assistance.

Our church in Cuero hosted Evangelist David Roever with several great school assemblies and a special Saturday session. It was great to see my friend who was the first one to welcome me back home from the Army. You who are about my age understand what that means! My welcome at the time was a stringy-haired girl yelling “baby killer” and a dirty-looking “hippie” who spit in my face in the Philadelphia airport as I was flying home! The kindness of Christian friends surely outweighs the ugliness of protesters!

We were honored to minister at Victoria First on Labor Day weekend. Pastor George and Linda were wonderful hosts, and we enjoyed preaching to their congregation.

Our Ladies attended a special retreat in Kerrville and truly enjoyed themselves. Our men invited others from our area to come by for an evening of fishing and a special breakfast on September 14. Both events were memorable and we always delight in getting together with others of like faith.

Our Ladies are welcoming all ladies to a special Ladies Night on September 20 at 7:00 p.m. Evelyn is encouraging all ladies to come ready to be actresses for a special movie they will be producing. There will be great fellowship and a lot of food for those who attend. Please come and enjoy!

Captain Robert has scheduled another Sea Academy Class for the Chapel beginning on September 27. These classes are Coast Guard Approved and will prepare students to obtain their licenses to become boat captains. All who are interested in being a part of this class must contact Captain Robert as soon as possible at 361/758/6184.

October’s calendar is filled with special meetings for ladies and men’s retreats here at the Chapel. We are always trying to accomplish things that will help people in their walk with our Lord. We are an interdenominational congregation who has a warm welcome for all. And, you are urged to, “Come, grow with us!”
