I don’t know about you, but I never dreamed I would live to see the year 2020 come around. When I was young, that seemed way too far in the future, but as you get older (I’m 73.) you discover that time passes all too soon.
This year has seen our community lose many of its residents, and we are sad to see them go. Among them was my husband of 53+ years, and life isn’t quite the same without him. If you were wondering why there was no Dolphin Talk last month, that’s why.
We’ve seen lots of changes in this area since my husband and I moved here more than 25 years ago. It’s getting more and more populated, with more homes and businesses, and I guess that’s a good thing. But I understand when the old folks say it’s just not quite the same living here as it used to be. Going back to my home town (League City, Texas), I always wish it had not changed so much.
But as long as we hold on to our small-town values, loving and looking out for our neighbors, this will remain a great place to live.
The next (February) issue will mark the beginning of Dolphin Talk’s 25th year. With the help of our contributors and advertisers, I hope to continue this community publication for many years to come.
Thank you for reading Dolphin Talk!
